Kella extending headboard and curved side tables

The client had a passion for design and with an Ercol collection to rival a small museum she was very sure of what she likes.

With a set of our curved wardrobes already installed, the brief was to create a matching headboard and side tables, with the requirement that the headboard would fit a king-size bed and extend to fit a super-king in the future. This was not something we had ever been asked to do before, but we set about working out a simple but effective system using the main headboard as a frame and oak and sycamore ‘wings’ which could slide in or out to fit the width of the bed.

With the headboard made, we created side tables to match her curved wardrobes, using the same deco-inspired walnut handles and twinning this with the combination of oak fronts, figured sycamore top and walnut plinth.
