Solid ebony Valentine chair

We had the pleasure of working on a really special piece of furniture for a client with a taste for something exotic.

This Valentine dining chair is made from solid Gabon ebony: a black hardwood that is dense enough to sink in water. It is finely-textured and has a very smooth finish when polished, making it valuable as an ornamental wood.

To have something of this size in solid ebony is quite rare and special. Although it was quite a tricky material to work with, we really enjoyed making this amazing one-off piece of furniture.
